Thank you for installing Inference for R. This online ReadMe will help you get started using Inference. If you have additional questions, please don't hesitate to contact us at

What do I need to do first?
- Before installing this version of Inference for R, please uninstall any previous versions of Inference.
- Before using Inference for R, please verify that you have installed R 2.2 to 2.9 (available from http://www.r-project.org). The free 32-bit version of REvolution R (version 1.3.0) is also supported, however, the 32- and 64-bit versions of REvolution R Enterprise (version 2.0.0) are not supported yet.
- Next, please install the Microsoft Save as PDF or XPS add-in for Office 2007 (available from: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=4D951911-3E7E-4AE6-B059-A2E79ED87041). This package is required only if you wish to export Inference documents to PDF or XPS format.
- Finally, if you installed Inference while any Microsoft Office applications were running, please exit all Office applications before continuing.
How do I get started using Inference?
To start Inference, simply open Microsoft Word or Microsoft Excel. You’ll see the Inference ribbon tab:
NOTE: If the Inference menu does not appear, please exit all Microsoft Office applications. The Inference menu will be available the next time Word or Excel is launched.
The "Getting Started" section of Inference Online includes a set of QuickStart tutorials which offer step-by-step instructions, complete with practice documents.
You can jump to the Getting Started section of Inference Online by selecting Getting Started from the Inference ribbon:
